Washington, D.C. — Today, CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, announced its endorsement of Chairman Richard Neal in Massachusetts’ 1st Congressional District. CHC BOLD PAC Chairman, Tony Cárdenas, released the following statement on the endorsement:

“Throughout his years of public service and in his tenure as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Chairman Richard Neal has been an uncompromising ally to the Latino community and working families across the country. On immigration, Chairman Neal has stood up vehemently against Trump’s border wall and has championed comprehensive immigration reform that would protect our nation’s DREAMers and keep families together. On securing affordable health care, an issue that disproportionately impacts Latinos in this country, Chairman Neal has worked tirelessly to lower the costs of prescription drugs for our seniors and families because no family should go bankrupt when they fall ill.

In response, CHC BOLD PAC Chairman, Tony Cárdenas, issued the following statement: “Just weeks before the November 3rd election and while ten states have already begun casting ballots, President Trump and Mitch McConnell are shamelessly rushing to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to ensure a conservative majority in the Supreme Court. This despicable power grab will further erode the rights and protections the Affordable Care Act have afforded millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions. “In 2016 with months left in the Presidential election, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said, 'The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new President.' Mitch McConnell is now blatantly disregarding the voice of the American people. “The American people should be heard and have a voice in deciding who will fill the Supreme Court vacancy, especially during a pandemic when health care for millions of Americans is on the line. Over 200,000 Americans have died -- nearly thirty-seven thousand Latinos among them -- as a direct result of Trump's negligence during a global pandemic. In addition to the unprecedented loss of life, our economy has been devastated, with unimaginable unemployment rates and closures of small businesses. In the midst of this crisis, President Trump continues to lead the Republican effort to strip health care from millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions -- one which will now be COVID-19. BOLD PAC Announces $2.7M Investment to Support Latino Candidates in Congressional General Elections FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 3, 2020 Contact: Jazmin Vargas jazmin@chcboldpac.com WASHINGTON — Today CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, announced its plan to transfer $2.7M toward its independent expenditure efforts to support congressional Latino candidates in their general elections. This brings BOLD PAC’s total independent expenditure investment to $5.45M, the largest investment made by the organization into its independent expenditure in one cycle.
