ABOUT
HILDA SOLIS CA-38
Democrat for Congress
Hilda Solis has spent her career fighting for the people of California. As a longtime public servant and trusted leader, she has fought to expand opportunity, protect working families, and make sure every community has a voice in Washington. Now, Hilda is ready to bring that experience and commitment back to Congress and continue fighting for the people she has always served.
HILDA SOLIS
A FIGHTER FOR CALIFORNIA
Hilda Solis grew up in La Puente, the daughter of immigrant parents from Mexico and Nicaragua. In the California Legislature, she became the first Latina elected to the State Senate. She went on to represent Southern California in Congress from 2001 to 2009 and served as U.S. Secretary of Labor under President Obama from 2009 to 2013, making history as the first Latina to serve in the U.S. Cabinet. Since 2014, she has served on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, representing the First District.
Today, working-class Californians face rising costs, attacks on immigrant families, and threats to the rights and opportunities they have fought for. Hilda is ready to fight back. She is running to defend workers, protect immigrant families, and push back against the Trump administration’s agenda.
