Marlene Galán-Woods is the type of person who you want fighting for your community. Her parents moved to the U.S from Cuba in search of better opportunities for themselves and their children. Marlene made sure that her parents' efforts were not misused as she moved to Arizona in the 1980’s and continued her career as a broadcast journalist. That is where she met her late husband Grant Woods, who was Arizona's Attorney General, and together they dedicated themselves to improving the lives of Arizona children. Marlene founded the Mesa Arts Academy within the Boys & Girls club of east valley where she served as President of the school board. She has a passion for doing what is right, even when those in power don't. In congress Marlene will fight to protect women's reproductive rights, voting rights. Marlene is a strong supporter of a woman's right to choose, so much so that he led a group of former journalists to call out Republican candidates.
