Washington D.C. - As part of its commitment to expanding representation in Congress, today CHC BOLD PAC is endorsing Sam Liccardo in

CA-16 and Eddy Morales in OR-03. CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez released the following statement on this endorsement:


"As Mayor of San José, Sam Liccardo led the way on innovative solutions to the high cost of housing, homelessness, improving our schools, and making every community safer. ABOUT SAM LICCARDO 


Sam Liccardo is a solution-oriented public servant who has dedicated his career to taking on his city’s biggest challenges. Elected as the 65th mayor of San José, California, Liccardo has spent his years in public service successfully leading movements to boost the minimum wage, address and alleviate homelessness, put first-generation students on a path towards a college education, and fight for reproductive freedoms. Before becoming mayor, Liccardo worked to protect women and children as an prosecutor for felony crimes of sexual assault and exploitation. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School, Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and Georgetown University. He lives in San José with his wife Jessica García-Kohl. 


ABOUT EDDY MORALES


Eddy Morales is a small business owner, community organizer, and City Council member representing Gresham, Oregon. The child of a single mother born in Mexico, Morales understands the struggles of working families and experienced firsthand how public benefits and community support can help break the cycle of poverty and improve a person’s life. Morales has dedicated himself to giving back to Oregon by using his position in public office to advocate for healthcare access, affordable housing, worker’s rights, and ending gun violence. Since 2003 he has helped raise over $60 million in support of these efforts. He graduated from the University of Oregon where he studied Spanish, Public Policy, and Management. He has spent decades as a community organizer working to uplift underprivileged and historically underrepresented groups. 



CHC BOLD PAC

BOLD PAC is the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) and is dedicated to increasing diversity in the House and Senate by getting more Latinos and Latinas elected. In 2022, BOLD PAC elected the largest Democratic CHC in history, bringing nine new Latinos to the House, including four in seats that were picked up by House Democrats.
