CHC BOLD PAC Endorses New Slate of Latino Candidates

Washington D.C. -  As a part of its commitment to expanding Latino representation in both the U.S. House and Senate, today CHC BOLD PAC is endorsing two candidates in key districts – Gil Cisneros in CA-31 and Joe Vogel in MD-06.

“Gil Cisneros is an exemplary individual that represents the best of BOLD PAC's values. Gil is all about service: from his decade serving in our Navy, to his educational foundation supporting San Gabriel Valley students, to fighting for working families in Washington, Gil is exactly the kind of leader we need back in Congress. He has delivered on economic investment, pushed to stop gun violence, and made strides to protect our environment. I look forward to getting Gil back on the Hill,” said CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez.

“BOLD PAC is thrilled to support Joe Vogel in his historic run to become Maryland’s first Latino Member of Congress. Maryland’s 6th Congressional District has a significant Latino population, and electing Joe would give these communities a powerful voice in Congress. An immigrant from Uruguay, Joe has devoted his career to advocating for his community, and has been a force for progress in the legislature. Our country needs a new generation of Latino leaders in government, and we look forward to helping elect Joe Vogel to Congress,” said CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez.

“I am humbled to be endorsed again by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus’s BOLD PAC. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus exists to empower Latino voices and give Latinos a seat at the table, and I have dedicated my life to doing just that. Here in the San Gabriel Valley, I established a foundation that provides educational opportunities for Latino students and veterans, and I look forward to continuing the work of furthering diversity in Congress." said Gil Cisneros.

“I’m honored to have the support of the CHC BOLD PAC in my run to represent Maryland’s 6th Congressional District in Congress. As an immigrant from Uruguay and one of the growing number of Latino elected leaders in Maryland, I know how important it is for our community to have a voice in Congress. Maryland has never elected a Latino to Congress, and hasn’t elected an immigrant in over 200 years — we’re going to change that next year. I applaud BOLD’s commitment to elevating the next generation of Latino leaders, and I’m looking forward to working with CHC Members to advocate for the Latino community in MD-6, and across the country,” said Joe Vogel.

ABOUT GIL CISNEROS

The proud son of a Vietnam veteran and a cafeteria worker, Gil Cisneros knows what it takes to be a hard worker and leader. Through his ten years of service as U.S Naval Officer, Gil has been awarded some of the most prestigious awards, including the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal.

Gil dedicated himself to philanthropy. Together with his wife, Gil partnered with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and the City of Pico Rivera to create Generation First Degree Pico Rivera, with the goal of putting a college degree in every household in the city, and communities across the San Gabriel Valley.

In 2019 Gil was first elected to serve in Congress for California’s 39th Congressional district where he successfully helped recover $550k for constituents and brought $136M in non-COVID related grants for infrastructure and services. He stood up to Donald Trump and voted to impeach him for abuse of power and obstruction of justice.

He most recently served as Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness and the Military’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. In this position he was able to ensure employees had basic rights protected and implemented the Pentagon’s newest abortion policy for military personnel.

Gil graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University, holds an MBA from Regis University and M.A. in Urban Education Policy from Brown.

ABOUT JOE VOGEL

Joe was born in Uruguay and immigrated to the U.S with his parents when he was three years old. From being a community leader to being a State Delegate in Maryland, Joe Vogel is a reflection that anything is possible in this country. In his career, Joe has led bipartisan legislation to address some of our most pressing challenges like addressing the fentanyl crisis and making major investments in mental health services.

He brought more mental health professionals into Maryland public schools and amended Governor Moore’s Educator Shortage Act which ensures that Maryland students will have a world-class education while having access to mental health resources when needed. For the fentanyl crisis, he gained bipartisan support to pass the Josh Siems Act which helped improve fentanyl testing processes in Maryland hospitals.

Joe has spent many years in advocacy, starting at 15 years old when he volunteered for Obama’s campaign. In 2016, he joined Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign as well. He did not give up when Donald Trump won, jumping into the fight to advocate for gun-violence prevention, reproductive rights, and LGBTQIA+ rights.

Joe has continued to organize in his community and fought to increase education funding for Maryland students by founding Learn it Together, a nationwide education nonprofit that provides free tutoring for children of essential workers. Joe is ready to continue fighting for Marylanders if elected to Congress.

CHC BOLD PAC Respalda Nueva Grupo de Candidatas Latinos

Washington D.C.

Trump doesn’t understand what it’s like to worry about putting food on the table, affording a doctor’s visit, or keeping the lights on. But millions of working families do and they’re the ones feeling the pain of his disastrous agenda. Republicans have made it clear that they stand with Trump’s extreme agenda over our communities. A Marine Corps veteran, single mother, and the daughter of farmworkers, Mendoza embodies the grit and resilience of working families across Arizona. In just 60 days, she raised over $810,000—an impressive display of grassroots strength and undeniable momentum. Mendoza is the candidate to flip this seat and defeat Juan Ciscomani. “JoAnna Mendoza is exactly the kind of leader Washington needs right now – tough, tested, and rooted in community,” said CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez . “She has served our country with honor, and now she’s answering the call to serve again. Juan Ciscomani has spent his time in Congress pushing a dangerous far-right agenda, siding with MAGA extremists, and putting party loyalty over the needs of Arizonans. JoAnna is a battle-tested Marine and a proven leader who knows what true service means. She has what it takes to flip this seat and fight for Arizona’s working families.” "I’m honored to have the support of BOLD PAC — a powerful voice for Latino representation and working families,” said JoAnna Mendoza . “As a proud Latina, Marine veteran, and native Arizonan, I know what it means to fight for opportunity and equity. In Congress, I'm looking forward to standing with BOLD to deliver for our communities and ensure every family gets a fair shot.” ABOUT JOANNA MENDOZA JoAnna Mendoza is a Marine veteran, dedicated public servant, and single mother who has spent her life fighting for her country and her community. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 3, 2025 Contact: Karla Rodriguez Karla@chcboldpac.com BOLD PAC Shatters Q1 Fundraising Record, Raises Over $3.2 Million in Push to Take Back the House and Senate Washington, D.C. - BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, announced today that it raised over $3.2 million in the first quarter of 2025, marking its strongest Q1 fundraising total ever in an off-year. This record-breaking momentum underscores what Senator Cory Booker and Democrats across the country are saying: the fight to take back the House and Senate is on–and we are fired up. The $3.2 million raised this quarter significantly outpaces BOLD PAC’s Q1 totals in previous off-years. This includes the $2.01 million raised in the first quarter of 2017 when a sea of Democratic energy led the party to flip 43 seats in the House during Donald Trump’s first term. The record-breaking haul underscores how energized and mobilized Democrats are early in the midterm cycle. “Donald Trump is back in the White House, and our communities are already paying the price. He’s damaging our economy, rolling back our rights, threatening our Social Security and Medicare, and doubling down on the same extremist playbook that hurts working families,” said Chairwoman Linda Sánchez . “But we’re not backing down. This historic fundraising total shows how fired up the Democratic base is to hold him accountable. BOLD PAC is channeling that energy into action to protect our communities and take back the House and Senate next year.” ### CHC BOLD PAC , the campaign arm of the Hispanic Caucus, was founded in 2001 to increase Latino representation in Congress. He was a giant in the fight for working families, environmental rights, and the Latino community — dedicating decades to public service and fiercely advocating for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District. As a longtime Member of the Natural Resources Committee, Raúl fought to protect our environment, public lands, and Indigenous communities, ensuring future generations could enjoy and benefit from them. His absence will be deeply felt in Congress and across our BOLD familia. Raúl was more than a public servant; he was a mentor, a proud Latino leader, and a champion for those who needed him most. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 05, 2025 Contact: Karla Rodriguez Karla@chcboldpac.com TRUMP’S FIRST MONTH HAS ONLY MADE LIFE MORE EXPENSIVE FOR AMERICANS WASHINGTON, D.C. – As President Trump delivered his first speech to a Joint Session of Congress, one fact is clear: his first month in office has done nothing to bring down costs for working families — in fact, he’s hurting their pocketbooks. Instead of fighting to lower prices at the grocery store, reduce the cost of prescription drugs, or lower the costs of housing, Trump has spent his time: Ignoring the spike in egg prices, with the national average hitting $5 in his first month back. Eggs shouldn’t be a luxury. Pressuring Republicans to pass a budget resolution that would cut $2 billion in federal Medicaid funds from each congressional district, gutting health care for 15.9 million Americans . Rolling back an executive order from the Biden administration to lower prescription drug prices to $2. Admitting—twice —that lowering costs and making life more affordable is not his top priority . “Donald Trump promised to help working Americans, but his first month back in the White House has been a disaster for their wallets,” said Chairwoman Linda Sánchez . “He’s proving once again that he’s only looking out for himself while Latino families foot the bill.
