Washington, D.C. - Today, CHC BOLD PAC Chairman Ruben Gallego announced that the organization launched its second digital ad campaign of the 2022 election cycle, titled, “Attack.” 

 

The ad highlights how Republican politicians have turned their backs on American democracy by remaining silent for a full year after Donald Trump tried to overturn the presidential election results by spreading the “Big Lie.” These lies resulted in a violent attack on the nation’s Capitol, the death of several Americans, and the injury of 140 police officers. The 15-second ad will run in both Spanish and English.

 

“Republicans in Congress helped spread the 'Big Lie' and have consistently denied the full scale of violence at the Capitol, comparing the mob’s breaching of the building to a ‘normal tourist visit.’ One year later, they are still hiding the truth about the insurrection, turning their backs on our democracy, and standing with extremists and insurrectionists. It’s time for leaders who won’t look the other way and abandon this great country,” said BOLD PAC Chairman Ruben Gallego. “The best way to fight the Republican disinformation campaign is to uncover the truth about what they knew and how they were involved and to hold them accountable for their actions. This is an important issue for BOLD PAC because misinformation campaigns continue to target the Latino community, especially through their use of Spanish-language media.”

 

Republican politicians have proven that they are determined to do anything to hold power -- including spreading lies about their own electoral losses and doubling down on voter-suppression tactics that target voters of color. Working families deserve better representation and a more diverse Congress that reflects the values and experiences of all Americans.

El anuncio destaca cómo los políticos republicanos le han dado la espalda a la democracia estadounidense al permanecer en silencio durante un año completo, después de que Donald Trump intentó anular los resultados de las elecciones presidenciales difundiendo la "Gran Mentira". Estas mentiras desencadenaron un violento ataque al Capitolio de la nación, la muerte de varios estadounidenses y 140 policías heridos. El anuncio de 15 segundos se publicará tanto en español como en inglés.
