Washington, D.C. — Today, the Supreme Court ruled against President Trump's bid to end DACA, a program that currently allows over 700,000 DREAMers to contribute positively to our country and our economy without fear of deportation. BOLD PAC Chairman, Tony Cárdenas, released the following statement on the decision:

“Today our nation's Dreamers can finally breathe a much deserved sigh of relief as the Supreme Court voted, in a 5-4 decision, to give our young immigrants the freedom to continue to live, work, and to contribute to our communities and our nation’s economy.

“Currently, over 200,000 DACA recipients are serving as heroes on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 15,000 of these Dreamers are educators, 80,000 are employed in the American food service industry, and close to 30,000 are health care professionals. In these capacities, our DREAMers are saving lives and putting food on the table for families across the country — while putting their own lives at risk. DREAMers are American in every way and for them, home is here.

“While today is a day of celebration, our fight to protect DREAMers and their families is not over. Our nation’s immigrants are still under fragile protections, especially as President Trump continues his endless attacks on immigrant communities. The onus is now on the Republican-controlled Senate led by Leader McConnell to pass the bipartisan Dream and Promise Act. Republicans in the U.S. Senate have the opportunity to put partisan politics aside and finally bring long term relief to our nation's DREAMers."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 30, 2026 Contact: valeria@chcboldpac.com ICYMI: CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez on How the Texas Governor’s Race Will Determine Who Controls the House WASHINGTON, D.C. – In case you missed it, CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez (CA-38) penned an op-ed in The Hill emphasizing how critical the race for Texas governor will be in deciding who controls the U.S. House of Representatives. The op-ed discusses how Texas Latinos have the power to protect their state against further Republican gerrymandering that will shape their congressional map for years to come. All eyes will be on the Texas gubernatorial race this cycle. The race for Texas governor will decide control of the House Chairwoman Linda Sánchez 10/29/2026 “When Americans think about the fight for the House, they picture swing districts in Pennsylvania, Arizona and New York. But the truth is that the contest that could shape the House for years to come is the race for governor of Texas. If Gov. Greg Abbott (R) wins reelection, it could set in motion further redistricting that gerrymanders three to seven House seats out of play and into Republican hands for the long haul. Texas Republicans have already shown what they will do with unchecked power. Last summer, under pressure from President Trump’s political team, they redrew the state’s congressional map in the middle of the decade, producing a map that could give them 30 of Texas’s 38 congressional seats . The new lines took aim at districts built by coalitions of Latino and Black voters in the Rio Grande Valley, Dallas-Fort Worth and Central Texas. The Supreme Court upheld it and even went further. In Louisiana v. Callais , the court gutted the Voting Rights Act protections for communities of color from gerrymandering. Justice Elena Kagan wrote in dissent that the ruling leaves that protection “all but a dead letter.” For decades, it was the law that kept Latino communities in Texas from being carved up and drowned out. Now, according to a University of Houston professor , there are virtually no legal limits on how aggressively partisan a map can be. Early reports show Texas Republicans plan to redraw the congressional map again in 2027, along with the maps down the ballot. Every district that still gives Latino Texans a real voice in Congress will be on the table. That makes the governorship the last line of defense in Texas. A new map is a bill, and a bill needs the governor’s signature. Abbott signed the last one and would sign the next one. A Democratic governor can veto it, and Texas Republicans do not have the votes to override. Whoever wins this November decides whether the next gerrymander becomes law as early as next year. It doesn’t stop there. Texas is projected to gain four more congressional seats after the 2030 census, and Republicans will try to gerrymander these too. Every round of unchecked gerrymandering makes the math to a Democratic House harder, and it leaves one of the fastest-growing Latino populations in the country with fewer representatives who answer to it. Republicans drew their maps on a bet that Latino voters would keep voting the way they did in 2024, when Trump won a majority of Texas Latinos and counties along the Rio Grande turned red. That bet now looks like a mistake. In March, Democratic primary turnout in Texas’s 64 Latino-majority counties rose four points over 2022 and topped even the 2024 presidential year. This fall, a Univision-YouGov poll found Texas Latinos favor Democrats for Congress by 13 points, and roughly one in three Latinos who voted for Trump now have doubts or regret their choice. Why the swing? Latino families were promised lower prices and got higher ones. A full three-quarters of Latinos now disapprove of Trump’s economic policies . That’s good news for the House this cycle. But statewide races in Texas are won at the margins. In 2018, the U.S. Senate race came down to fewer than 215,000 votes . Some 6.5 million Latino Texans are eligible to vote, and Latinos make up more than a quarter of registered voters in the state. If they continue to swing back to Democrats, they can decide the governor’s race, and with it, the shape of the congressional map for years to come. Texas Democrats have a strong gubernatorial nominee in Gina Hinojosa. Voters far beyond Texas should be watching this race, because its outcome will show up in the House majority long after Election Day. The fight for the House runs through Texas, and the fight for Texas runs through Latino communities. This November, Texas Latinos can protect their own representation and help decide who controls Congress. El futuro se decide en nuestras comunidades . ” ### CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, was founded in 2001 to increase Latino representation in Congress. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 13, 2026 Contact: valeria@chcboldpac.com CHC BOLD PAC to Guardrails Alliance: Latino Families Need AI Safeguards, and Jimmy Gomez Has Been Fighting for Them Every dollar aimed at a proven champion for AI regulation is a dollar not spent defeating Republicans who want AI completely unregulated WASHINGTON, DC – CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, today called on Guardrails Alliance – a PAC aimed at advancing candidates who will advocate for AI regulation – to reassess its strategy after the group spent over $400,000 against Rep. Jimmy Gomez (CA-34), a proven champion for AI regulation. For Latino and immigrant communities, AI regulation decides whether agencies like ICE can use facial recognition and surveillance tools to track people, misidentify them, and target them. Rep. Gomez is a believer in both the opportunity of AI and the need for regulations - that’s why he has spent years fighting to put limits on those tools. Guardrails Alliance says it supports AI regulation, yet it is spending against him while Republicans block the safeguards it claims to want. “For Latino families, the fight over AI regulation is already personal. These are the same tools that can be turned on immigrant communities, and Jimmy Gomez has been fighting to rein them in since 2018,” said CHC BOLD PAC Chair Linda T. Sánchez . “He took on Amazon over facial recognition, pushed to find out whether ICE could keep using it, and helped write protections to keep it out of immigration enforcement. If Guardrails Alliance is serious about regulating AI, it needs to reassess its strategy. Democrats are on the cusp of taking back the House, and every dollar spent against Jimmy is a dollar not spent beating the Republicans who stand in the way of meaningful AI guardrails.” Rep. Gomez’s fight to keep AI surveillance away from ICE and our communities: Challenged Amazon on racial bias and law enforcement misuse (2018). With Sen. Ed Markey, Gomez led a congressional inquiry into Amazon’s facial recognition technology. It pressed the company on racial bias, accuracy, privacy, and misuse by law enforcement. Gomez called for a federal moratorium instead of voluntary company pledges. He also asked whether Amazon’s pause applied to DHS, ICE, and existing police contracts. Helped introduce the Facial Recognition Act of 2022 . The bill would ban facial recognition for immigration enforcement and for tracking lawful protests, require warrants and independent audits, and let people harmed by unlawful use sue. Gomez’s Ban Military Drones Spying on Civilians Act would bar federal agencies from using certain military drones to monitor people at protests. Cosponsors the Stop AI Price Gouging and Wage Fixing Act . The bill would stop companies from using personal surveillance data to set individualized prices and wages through algorithms, a practice that hits working families hardest. Gomez sued to stop ICE from hiding conditions inside detention centers, and won. After the court ruled, he carried out oversight at an ICE facility in Los Angeles. ### CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, was founded in 2001 to increase Latino representation in Congress.
