Rudy Salas was born and raised in the Central Valley where he has been a lifelong resident. He graduated from UCLA where he went from working in the fields with his father to then later becoming the first Latino Bakersfield City Council Member in its 112-year history. Rudy held five terms in the California State Assembly where he lowered costs for working families, increased public safety funding, helped pass overtime pay for farm workers, and so much more. In his last two years in the assembly, he secured $290 million of dedicated investments for clean water Central Valley projects. 

He led the fight to save FFA (Future Farmers of America), delivered funding to graduate more nurses and doctors in the Valley and helped pass legislation that saved local hospitals from closing so thousands of rural families didn’t lose access to life saving care. 

Rudy is ready to flip the seat in CA-22 and continue delivering real results to the working families of the Central Valley. The people of the Central Valley deserve someone that will put their needs first and that is why Rudy Sallas is perfect for the role in Congress.
