MARLENE GALÁN-WOODS
THE CHANGE ARIZONA NEEDS
Marlene is a 36-year resident of Arizona, former broadcast journalist, and mother of five children. Her parents were Cuban refugees who instilled in Marlene democratic values and the importance of the American Dream. Marlene went on to become a broadcast journalist, exposing corrupt politicians and holding the powerful accountable. With her late husband, Arizona Attorney General Grant Woods, Marlene worked on a number of causes that helped uplift public education and Arizona’s youth. Marlene led efforts to defend Arizona from Republican extremism, including chairing Secretary of State Adrian Fontes’ campaign and leading a coalition of former journalists to defeat Kari Lake. She is running to be Arizona’s voice in Congress to restore and protect access to abortion, safeguard our democracy, and champion working families.
