Washington, D.C. - Today, CHC BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, congratulates Rep. Rob Menendez on securing the Democratic nomination in New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District.

BOLD PAC has been proud to stand with Rep. Menendez, launching its first investment of the 2024 cycle in this competitive race and helping power his re-election: 



The investment is part of the “Our Lucha” initiative, a multi-scope initiative launched in 2021 that puts BOLD PAC at the forefront of the fight for every Latino vote. It includes BOLD PAC’s Latino led efforts to educate our community ourselves on the issues that matter most and to combat misinformation, mobilize Latinos to make change, and persuade them to vote for Democrats. Previous phases of this effort include $6 million in direct investments in Latina and Latino campaigns ahead of the 2022 midterms which led to electing the largest Congressional Hispanic Caucus in history. Efforts also include an early 2024 grassroots initiative to educate and mobilize Latino voters in the critical battleground states of Arizona, Florida, and Texas and a YouTube Channel “Ya Tu Sabes,” to combat disinformation and to educate and engage Latino voters in a culturally competent way.

As the grandson of immigrants and strong union members, Congressman Rob Menendez understands the spirit and value of public service and giving back to his community. He was born and raised in Hudson County and proudly serves New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District in the House of Representatives. 


In Congress, Rob Menendez has a record of delivering real solutions for working families. As a member of the Labor Caucus, he introduced the Working Families Task Force Act, which will help increase wages and access to affordable child care. He co-sponsored the Richard L. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize Act, which will strengthen organized labor and give workers the wages and rights they deserve. Also, Congressman Menendez has been a fearless fighter for reproductive rights. As Member of the House Pro-Choice Caucus he cosponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would enshrine the principles of Roe v. Wade into law and protect the rights of all women.


Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, Congressman Menendez served as a Commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He was the first Latino from New Jersey to serve on the Board and the first millennial Port Authority Commissioner. During his time as a Commissioner, he oversaw the completion of several critical infrastructure projects, including Newark Liberty International Airport's $2.7 billion expansion.


Rob earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School. He and his wife, young daughter, and son live in the Lafayette neighborhood of Jersey City.

SOBRE ROB MENENDEZ
