A CHAMPION FOR NEW JERSEY
Analilia Mejia was born and raised in New Jersey by hardworking immigrant parents. She is a mother of two and former Director of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance who has accomplished many advancements for workers in New Jersey such as pushing for raising the minimum wage to $15 and expanding paid family leave. As the proud daughter of Colombian and Dominican hardworking immigrant parents, Analilia grew up understanding the labor and value of determination in the work force. She is an outspoken advocate for union workers and continues the fight for higher minimum wages. Analilia was the National Political Director for Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign and served in the Department of Labor under President Joe Biden, where she focused on policies and programs supporting women in the labor force. Co-Executive Director of Popular Democracy where she applied all the lessons learned through her time in government, organized labor, electoral campaigns, and advocacy in order to build a true multiracial and participatory democracy. Analilia continues her fight for working families, universal healthcare, and democracy in Congress.
