Analilia Mejía
A CHAMPION FOR NEW JERSEY
Analilia Mejia was born and raised in New Jersey by hardworking immigrant parents. She is a mother of two and the former Director of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance, where she helped advance major victories for workers across the state, including raising the minimum wage to $15 and expanding paid family leave.
As the proud daughter of Colombian and Dominican immigrant parents, Analilia grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work and the value of determination in the workforce. She is an outspoken advocate for union workers and continues to fight for higher wages and stronger labor protections.
Analilia served as the National Political Director for Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign and later worked in the U.S. Department of Labor under President Joe Biden, focusing on policies and programs that support women in the workforce. She also served as Co-Executive Director of Popular Democracy, where she applied the lessons she learned in government, organized labor, electoral campaigns, and advocacy to help build a truly multiracial and participatory democracy. Analilia continues her fight for working families, universal healthcare, and a stronger democracy in Congress.
